The First Day of my Diet

I have finally decided to do something about my weight. Currently I weight 60kgs (132lbs) which means that over the past 8 months I have managed to gain 4kgs (9lbs). It doesn't sound like a lot but do you know what a pound of fat looks like? It's not pretty. And there's 9 of those ugly yellow lumps all over my body! Yuck!

9lbs really does make a difference- my jeans are tighther, my belly is pudgy and my face is fuller. So I plan on losing the weight by watching what I eat and limiting the amount of fat I consume. Today, for breakfast I had a bowl of cereal (Nutrigrain, it was all we had) and two slices of watermelon. Typically what I have is two slices of buttered toast, cereal, yoghurt and a hot chocolate with marshmellows (I'm addicted to it!) So really, I usually eat more than my body needs. By limiting the amount of calories I consume I'm hoping to lose the weight quickly.

Of course, what diet is complete without exercise? I'm not a huge fan of it, but I will attempt to do some form of exercise everyday, or at least every other day. I don't have a lot of time on my hands because my 11 month old demands a lot of my attention so it's going to be hard but I'll work it out somehow.

Today for lunch I plan on having a burger from Grill'd. I know, I know. I should be nibbling on carrot sticks and what not if I want to lose weight, but that is so not me. Take away my food and I will eat more of it! But whereas before, I'd have the burger with chips, this time I'll go without. So you see, I am making some positive changes. The only problem I have will be to stick to my "diet"... my love of food tends to overcome my desire to lose weight. But hopefully, by blogging about it, I will be more inclined to stick to it. Wish me luck!

  1. Good luck with your diet! I love hot chocolate, with tons of marshmallows of course. I actually like working out on our elliptical, what I hate is anything involving weights. I get bored of doing that kind of stuff easily.

Two pairs of the shoes I bought were on sale for under $20. I don't buy 4 at a time on a regular basis. I'd like to though :D.

  2. ahhh i hate diets and exercise :(

  3. Hey girlie, thanx for the add & follow sooo much, you rock my sockx!*_*! And loads of gud luck with your diet plans, I hope I can find it in me to do the same chile, cause I really need to, and I don't have any kids!

  4. My baby is 11 months old too =)

It sounds like your weight loss plan is definitely on the right track, go girl!

  5. Good luck! It's good to be making small changes and not being ridiculous about what you eat! Carrot sticks for lunch is for losers xD

    I can't believe you're a mother of two! Wow...I would love to have two kids by the age of 25! =_= I don't think it's going to happen though...When I'm 25 I'll still be a doctor-in-training!!
